Our Team

David Boersma

Co-Founder and CEO

David has been actively involved with paint recycling since 2007, and is a co-founder of The Paint Exchange. As a driver of change and innovation, David was instrumental in the development of our exclusive color and quality management systems. Prior to founding The Paint Exchange, Mr. Boersma has performed roles such as the Midwest Divisional Director of Installed Services for one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of building materials in the U.S.. He previously served as President and CEO of a building materials distribution company. David is passionate about paint recycling, but if you spend enough time with him, you’re bound to hear him say something like, “Don’t forget, there’s more to life than paint.” He is celebrating 15 years of marriage to the love of his life this year, and is the father of four beautiful children. He is a singer/songwriter for fun.

Elliott Wells

Co-Founder and COO

Mr. Wells began working with recycled paint in 2009, and is a co-founder of The Paint Exchange. Prior to founding The Paint Exchange, Elliott served as the sales manager for a specialty green building materials retailer. Elliott’s passion for sustainability and relative quality of life is evident in everything he does, and he attributes this in part to his times traveling and teaching in Thailand and many of the countries in the surrounding region. He once completed a coast to coast bicycle trip across the U.S. to raise money for affordable housing with Habitat for Humanity. Elliott has helped to shape the culture of excellence and innovation at The Paint Exchange through his life, business, and educational experience. He is a graduate of The College of Charleston. Besides paint recycling, he enjoys home and community based organic gardening, he performs some mean karaoke, and if you ever find a snake on your front porch, he’s a great friend to have.
